π Business Development Manager - Technology / Transport & Logistics
π Location: Kings Cross, London (Hybrid)
πΌ Compensation: Β£50k-Β£80k + Bonus
π Work Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days a week (Monday and Wednesday, plus one additional day on Tuesday or Thursday)

Our client is a leader in real-time city transport network simulations, leveraging advanced computing and Machine Learning. They significantly improve public transport operations across Europe, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction. The company works with major transport providers like Arriva, Stagecoach, First Bus, and TFL, and is now aiming to expand into new industries such as construction, supply chain, logistics, wholesale, and delivery.
Position Overview:
We are hiring two dynamic and customer-focused Business Development Managers to join our client's growing team. These roles are crucial, as the company currently has no dedicated salespeople; the co-founders and Head of Customer Success have been handling sales and business development efforts. You will work closely with the CEO and Co-Founder to drive sales, break into new markets, and build a scalable sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation: Identify and prospect new clients through various lead generation activities.
- Client Engagement: Initiate contact with potential customers via email and phone to promote the technology, generate interest, and qualify leads.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to uncover potential leads and provide strategic insights.
- Sales Funnel Management: Track and manage the progress of leads from initial contact to closing.
- Sales Support: Coordinate sales-qualified demos and assist in converting leads into customers.
- Team Development: Play a key role in hiring, training, and mentoring new sales team members.
- Campaign Management: Collaborate with the CEO to design and manage effective marketing and sales campaigns.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of B2B sales experience, ideally with a background as an SDR and subsequent promotion to a BD Manager/Account Manager role. Up to 5 years of experience will be considered.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation, cold outreach, and cold calling.
- Interest in joining a smaller organization with a potential to grow and build a team.
- A degree from a reputable university (preferably Imperial or UCL).
- Experience in enterprise or consultant technology sales, particularly in SaaS or PaaS.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Salesforce.
- Knowledge of the public transport industry and data-driven software sales.
